    The St. Cecilia Music club met September 15 at 6 p.m. with a carry-in dinner at Veanna Snodgrass’ home. Those present were Denise Allen, Ruth Calcaterra, Brenda Gower, Leanna Leake, Denna Nichols, Veanna Snodgrass, Glee Hanson, and Valerie Franke.   • Agape House sets plans for Oct. 12 Open House

    The plans for the October 12 open house were finalized at the September 16 meeting of the Agape House of Vandalia  Board of Directors. The house will be open to the public for tours from 12:30-3:30 p.m. with a special program of celebration for 10 years of operation at 2:30 p.m. In other business, reports were given by Carlene Galloway and Kay Robnett following their participation in the United Way

    The first Fall Monday Study Club meeting was held September 8 at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Vandalia. The hostess for the meeting was Ann Foreman.   • Agape House gets new member

    Edith Westmoreland of Bowling Green joined the board of directors of Agape House of Vandalia during the August 19 meeting.  Westmoreland is a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and holds part-time employment in Hannibal. In other business, the manager’s report indicated there were 97 guests, including 28 children, at the house in July.
