Women’s Guild met May 8

The St. John Women’s Guild met Wednesday evening, May 8, 2013, at the church.  The meeting was called to order and opened with prayer by president, Carol Fischer. Elsie Hand presented the topic, “Pointing to Jesus.”  Seven members (Carol Fischer, Dotty Cahill, Regina Vogt, Elsie Hand, Sabrina Lovell, Marlo Hunn, Karen Morris) answered roll call by reading a scripture containing the words “grow or growing.” Secretary’s report was not available.

  • Historical Society in need of volunteers

    The Vandalia Area Historical Society held an abbreviated meeting at the Vandalia Hotel on Friday, April 19 at 6:30 p.m. After regular business was conducted, most of the discussion concerned the progress of the Cornerstone Project.   • VFW Supper

    V.F.W. Post No. 2173 hosted an appreciation supper Saturday, April 20 at the Post home for members and workers who help with the monthly fundraisers.     The Monday Study Club met at 1:30 p.m. on April 8, 2013 at the United Methodist Church.  Ann Foreman and Deedie Reading were the hostesses.
