Grant awarded to Community R-VI

The Missouri Retired Teacher’s Foundation awarded a grant of $500 to the Community R-VI  FACS Department.  The grant was awarded for a multi-part lesson plan designed to involve the students from collecting raw food products to dehydrating, canning, and freezing them.

    The Northeast Missouri Genealogical Society will hold their third meeting of the year on Saturday, August 23 at 10 a.m., at the Mexico-Audrain County Library, Mexico.   • Laddonia holds All-School Reunion

    On Saturday, July 26, 2014, at the American Legion Hall south of Laddonia, 45 were in attendance for the 12th All-Class Reunion of the “old” Laddonia School.     Visiting students, ages 15-18, from around the world including Germany, Spain, Switzerland, and Thailand are seeking host families in and around Vandalia for the upcoming 2014-2015 academic school year. as part of the International High School Exchange.   • Local R-VI student goes to 4-H State

    Audrain Co. 4-H Member Katie Carline, Martinsburg attended State 4-H Congress.

    Youth from every corner of the state gathered on the University of Missouri campus May 28-30 for the 69th annual State 4-H Congress.  In all, 294 teens ages 14-18 participated in a variety of hands-on workshops that fit their interests.  Choices ranged widely, from leadership development to acting, writing, and meteorology. “4-H is about building life skills,” said Stephanie Femrite, 4-H Youth Specialist.  “State 4-H Congress helps teens develop important

    The Susanna Randolph Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution held it’s meeting on May 8 at the Vandalia Hotel. Joy Davis, Regent, called the meeting to order.
