Audrain County Public School Retirees meet

Retirees News Release “On the Move,” presented by MoDOT, was the program  for the Audrain County Area Public Area School Retirees meeting June 5 at Coaches Pizza.   An update on current projects and an explanation of local and state funding was the focus of the program.  A survey was given to each MRTA member present to return.   • AARP Driving Safely Class

    The Audrain Medical Center is sponsoring an AARP Driving Safely Class to be held at the Audrain Medical Center, 620 E. Monroe St., Mexico on Tuesday May 28 from 1-5:30 p.m. The class has a maximum enrollment of 20 students.   • Cudd visits Vandalia Rotary

    Vandalia Rotary Club President Clayton Barsé, left, is pictured with Rotary District 6060 Governor Tim Cudd, right, at the club’s meeting on May 16, at the Vandalia Hotel.  Cudd, of St. Peters, presented a program on Rotary International’s efforts to provide clean water and sanitation to areas of Asia, Africa and Latin America, along with Rotary’s long standing project to eliminate polio worldwide. Polio cases are now only found in three countries; Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Nigeria. Cudd also complimented the Vandalia Rotarians for their contributions to many community service projects in the local area. Cudd is responsible for the leadership and administration of 55 Rotary clubs with 2,353 members located in the eastern third of Missouri.

    The Missouri Public School Advocates, a statewide nonprofit organization whose mission is to ensure the stability and strength of Missouri Public Schools, Colleges and Universities, has launched a video contest called, “I Am Missouri Public Schools.” The organization is encouraging supporters of Missouri’s public schools to submit short videos about what they love about their public school.
