Local students get scholarships

The University of Missouri Agricultural Alumni Association provided $50,000 in scholarship money to 25 CAFNR upper class students for the 2014-2015 academic year. The association funded over $18,000 in teaching and educational enhancements for the college’s, students, faculty, and staff last year. The University of Missouri Ag Alumni Association and its board of Directors is dedicated to the goals and traditions of the College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources.

  • Ralls County 4-H holds annual Recognition Night

    The 4-H Recognition Night was held on October 4 at the Mark Twain High School. This is a celebration honoring all the 4-H members and leaders for their accomplishments and outstanding work they have completed throughout the year. The evening started off with honoring the first-year leaders: Dana Keller, Daniel Mallory, Debbie McMillen, Jessie Armour, Jessie Mundell, Kaylyn Powell, Pam Barnes, Ruth Evans, Sarah Evans, Tresa Lempka, and Bill Moore.

  • World War II Exhibit on display

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Mark Twain Lake would like to announce that a small exhibit on World War II will be on display at the M.W. Boudreaux Memorial Visitor Center through December 12.  The title of the exhibit is “Women in Service During World War II” and is on loan from the Museum of Missouri Military History located in Jefferson City, Missouri.     The Van-Far Alumni and Friends Association met Thursday, October 23 to evaluate the September annual meeting of the Association. The 2014 dinner meeting with former graduate Charlene Wheeler Williams as the evening’s speaker and entertainment was well received.   • Class of 1954 holds 60 year reunion

    The Vandalia High School Class of 1954 met for their 60-year class reunion on September 13.
