VAHS Museum is closed until April

The Vandalia Area Historical Society announced that the museum will be closed until approximately April 1 depending upon the weather. Visits to the museum can be arranged by appointment during this time by calling Charlene Teague at 594-3026 or Pat Trower at 594-3999.

  • Births – Aaliyah Marie Brookshier

    Aaliyah Marie Brookshier was born on Friday, October 17 at Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Miss Aaliyah weighed in at 7 lbs., 1 oz., and was 18 inches long.  Aaliyah is the daughter of Sally Brookshier and the granddaughter of Steve and Lainey Brookshier, of Vandalia. After a brief stay for Aaliyah in the NICU at Women’s and Children’s, the two were welcomed home.

  • Monday Study Club met Nov. 24

    The Monday Study Club met November 24 at the United Methodist Church, in Vandalia. President Donna DeTienne led in the pledges to the American and Christian flags. The devotional was given by Kay Reading. Corresponding Secretary Jackie Marshall reported that Thanksgiving cards were sent to members who are residing at Tri-County Care Center.     Jina Stuckenschneider and Scott Deimeke were married on October 11, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Martinsburg, Missouri.  Rev. Lyndon Jong officiated the ceremony with Rev.
