Faith Tabernacle COGIC celebrates 48 years

The 48th Church Anniversary for Faith Tabernacle COGIC began last Friday evening with a musical and history reflections of the church. On Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m., there was a prayer breakfast. Vandalia Mayor Ralph Kuda, Jr. was the guest speaker. A Candlelight Service was held in honor of those members who have passed on after the breakfast.   • Laddonia Athletic Association hosts annual Fall Festival

    Grand Champion Girl winner was in “a league of her own.” Evelyn Deimeke, daughter of Josh and Melissa Curtis, of Laddonia.

    The Laddonia Athletic Association held their 2nd Annual Fall Festival on Saturday, October 25. The event featured a Co-Ed Softall Tournament with costumes on players, kids games, a baby contest, and more. The parade was canceled.

  • Fish Fry coming to Pike Co. school

    The Pike County Christian School Fish Fry will be held on Friday, November 14 at 4-7 p.m. The cost is $10 per plate at the school, 203 East Maple, in Curryville. The menu consists of fish or ham, potato salad, green beans, bread, a drink, and dessert.

R-VI FFA hosts Food for America event

Audrain County R-VI Chapter and Greenhand Officers planned a Christmas themed Food For America program for Kindergarten-5th grade classes at Community R-VI Elementary School. FFA members taught elementary students about Christmas tree production, then created Christmas tree snow globes in mason jars. Officers plan a monthly program for the elementary students to educate them about different areas of agriculture, ranging from food production, commodities, plant science, and animal science.

    The Van-Far Elementary School 5th and 6th grade students presented “North Pole Exposure” on Monday, December 16 in the gymnasium.
