“Sensational Science” at library

A “Sensational Science with Scouts” program was held last Thursday, July 24 inside the Vandalia Library as part of their Summer Reading Program. Students enjoyed a variety of activities during the presentation made by the Eastern Missouri Girl Scouts and Jessica Upchurch.

  • Benefit Laddonia sale for Slavens

    There will be a huge sale at 403 N. Pine in Laddonia August 8 at 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. and on August 9 at 8 a.m.-2 p.m. This is a fundraiser for Adessa Slavens who will be attending college in England. Donations of garage sale items, baked goods, and furniture will be greatly appreciated.

R-VI FFA hosts Food for America event

Audrain County R-VI Chapter and Greenhand Officers planned a Christmas themed Food For America program for Kindergarten-5th grade classes at Community R-VI Elementary School. FFA members taught elementary students about Christmas tree production, then created Christmas tree snow globes in mason jars. Officers plan a monthly program for the elementary students to educate them about different areas of agriculture, ranging from food production, commodities, plant science, and animal science.

    A Winter Music Program featuring Community R-VI Middle and High School students was held last Tuesday night inside the new gym.     The Van-Far Elementary School 5th and 6th grade students presented “North Pole Exposure” on Monday, December 16 in the gymnasium.
