  • Borgmeyer and Wrye retire after more than 88 years of service

    Several customers, friends, and family members piled in the Audrain County 4-H Building last week to recognize Joyce Borgmeyer and Gary Wrye for their combined 88 years with the Farm Credit System (PCA-FCS Financial). Borgmeyer served 45 years with the PCA-FCS while Wrye served the area for 43 years. The two were given several gifts, including an engraved clock, to recognize them for their years of service.   • Agape House has 59 guests

    The Agape House of Vandalia board members met February 17 at the house. The board learned 59 persons, including 11 children, had stayed at the guesthouse in January while they visited family members incarcerated at Bowling Green and Vandalia. Many Vandalia area residents woke up to a nice surprise on Christmas Eve when they drove through Vandalia in their vehicles and saw every gas station sign with the price of $1.99 per gallon for unleaded.   • R-VI board approves move to four day school week

    A few presentations were made during the Community R-VI Board meeting held last week at the district.

    After a few months of discussion, the Community R-VI School Board voted to change to a four day school week calendar for the 2015-2016 school year. A public session was held on the topic back in November. At that time, potential plans had district students out of school on Mondays while the other four days were set to be 35 minutes longer. Audrain County Health Dept. inspections

The Audrain County Health Department (ACHD) completed the Food Establishment Report in February.
