Class of 1959 holds reunion

The Van-Far High School graduating Class of 1959 held it’s 55th reunion on October 25 at the Country Cupboard in Vandalia. Decorations were in the school colors of black and gold with black tablecloths and gold napkins. Bonnie Gibson and Janie Zimmer decorated each table with a crystal vase filled with gold balls.   • Ralls County 4-H holds annual Recognition Night

    The 4-H Recognition Night was held on October 4 at the Mark Twain High School. This is a celebration honoring all the 4-H members and leaders for their accomplishments and outstanding work they have completed throughout the year. The evening started off with honoring the first-year leaders: Dana Keller, Daniel Mallory, Debbie McMillen, Jessie Armour, Jessie Mundell, Kaylyn Powell, Pam Barnes, Ruth Evans, Sarah Evans, Tresa Lempka, and Bill Moore.

  • Community R-VI PTO holds Craft Fair

    The Community R-VI PTO held a Craft Fair on Saturday, November 15 in both the old and new gymnasiums at the district. There were more than 45 vendors selling their goods. The Community R-VI Music Booster Club provided breakfast and lunch in the concession stand, located in between the gyms.

  • Van-Far 2nd grade students enjoy visit from veterans

    Ms. Orr’s 2nd grade class at Van-Far Elementary School had two visitors on Monday in honor of Veteran’s Day. Both are residents of the Veteran’s Home in Mexico. Time was spent visiting and answering questions about their time of service.
