Ralls County 4-H holds annual Recognition Night

The 4-H Recognition Night was held on October 4 at the Mark Twain High School. This is a celebration honoring all the 4-H members and leaders for their accomplishments and outstanding work they have completed throughout the year. The evening started off with honoring the first-year leaders: Dana Keller, Daniel Mallory, Debbie McMillen, Jessie Armour, Jessie Mundell, Kaylyn Powell, Pam Barnes, Ruth Evans, Sarah Evans, Tresa Lempka, and Bill Moore.

  • Community R-VI PTO holds Craft Fair

    The Community R-VI PTO held a Craft Fair on Saturday, November 15 in both the old and new gymnasiums at the district. There were more than 45 vendors selling their goods. The Community R-VI Music Booster Club provided breakfast and lunch in the concession stand, located in between the gyms.

  • Van-Far 2nd grade students enjoy visit from veterans

    Ms. Orr’s 2nd grade class at Van-Far Elementary School had two visitors on Monday in honor of Veteran’s Day. Both are residents of the Veteran’s Home in Mexico. Time was spent visiting and answering questions about their time of service.

  • Van-Far FFA holds annual Barnwarming

    The Van-Far FFA held their annual Barnwarming event last Friday, November 7 inside the Ag. building at Van-Far High School. Contests included a bale holding event, bale toss, wheel barrow/bucket challenge, eating a banana through nylons event, and a water pouring challenge. This year’s Barnwarming royalty was crowned as Logan Fowler was named king and Abilene Gatson was named queen. The other candidates included Mackenzie Kurz and Will Hopke (Freshmen);
