Live Line electricity demo Oct. 2

The employees of Consolidated Electric Cooperative invite local emergency officials to attend a Live Line electricity demonstration on Thursday, October 2, at 2 or 6 p.m. at 3940 E. Liberty in Mexico. This program is geared toward first responders, fire and rescue, medical personnel, sheriff departments, and other workers that could encounter electricity-involved situation in their work.     The Farber Evening Lions Club hosted an official Hunter Safety Course, presented by representatives from the Department of Conservation on Saturday, September 13 at the Farber Community Building. Audrain County Conservation Agent Norman Steelman, Pike County Conservation Agent Mike Christensen, Hunter Education Instructor Mike Trammell, and Jim Bradford taught the course from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. There were 44 area residents who graduated from the two part course that featured items

    This year’s Homecoming festivities, organized by STUCO, will be held Monday-Friday, September 15-19 at Van-Far R-I High School. The week long festivities are highlighted by a Power Puff football game at 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 17 on the high school football field.     The “Rockin’ Jake Band” performs during the free music event “Music on the Prairie,” held Monday night at the South Railroad Park in Vandalia. The event was sponsored by the Vandalia Area Chamber of Commerce, The Blues Deli, Ramsey Dickerman-State Farm Insurance, and Music Makers Plus. Vandalia’s “The Missouri Boys” also performed.
