Van-Far students perform “Beauty and the Beast”

The cast of “Beauty and the Beast” delighted crowds with their performances last Friday and Saturday at Van-Far High School. The two act musical featured a large cast with handmade and other costumes rented from Odessa High School.     The Van-Far Music Department held a Fundraiser Concert on Sunday, April 12 to raise money for a performance at the Russell Athletic Bowl this upcoming December. The bowl game will be played in Orlando, Florida. The five day experience will also allow the band to march in the Macy’s Holiday Parade at Universal Studios.     The Ralls County 4-H Achievement Day at New London Elementary on Thursday, April 2 starting at 5:15 p.m. The program started with a welcome and orientation; the American pledge was led by Clayton Robinson and the 4-H pledge by Emma Smith.   • “Beauty and the Beast” set for Van-Far

    Many “Beauty and the Beast” costumes were rented from Odessa High School for this week’s upcoming performance. Students had their first dress rehearsal last week at Van-Far.

    Vandalia area fans of the Disney movie “Beauty and the Beast” will get to enjoy their favorite scenes and songs when Van-Far Jr./Sr. High School students perform a musical of the same name this Friday-Saturday, April 10-11. The two Act musical with a 30 minute intermission features several students in key roles.   • Fundraiser Concert scheduled for April 12

    The Van-Far Music Department is having a fundraiser concert on Sunday, April 12 in the High School gym to raise money for the performance at the Russell Athletic Bowl in December. Adult tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Children are considered ages 3-8, and will be $8 in advance and at the door. Anyone under 3 years old is free.
