On Monday, November 3, the Northeast Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety Team Spirit Workshop was held at the National Guard Armory in Hannibal. R-VI Chapter Officers and Greenhand Officers presented Food for America to Kindergarten through 5th Grade Classes at Community R-VI. They teach the elementary students about where food and agricultural products come.  This is a very educational program for multiple reasons.     Community R-VI Elementary School students presented “Christmas at the O.K. Corral” last Thursday, December 4 inside the old gymnasium. The setting was the Old West as the O.K. Corral is near the small town of Snowy Gulch and it is Christmas. Scene 1 (Christmas in the West) featured grades K-5. Scene 2 was called “Bubble Gum Bart” with grades 2,3, and 5.     Each month, STRIVE sponsors a boy and girl high school student as Community R-VI Students of the Month. When choosing this honor, teachers and staff members consider effort in academic achievement, participation in extracurricular activities, adherence to school rules, and demonstration of school spirit and pride.     Members of the Audrain County R-VI FFA Chapter in Missouri were one of 43 teams participating in the National FFA Meats Evaluation and Technology Career Development Event (CDE). The event was held in conjunction with the 87th National FFA Convention and Expo in Louisville, Kentucky. The team, led by advisor Stacy French, was awarded a Gold emblem.     The Van-Far High School graduating Class of 1959 held it’s 55th reunion on October 25 at the Country Cupboard in Vandalia. Decorations were in the school colors of black and gold with black tablecloths and gold napkins. Bonnie Gibson and Janie Zimmer decorated each table with a crystal vase filled with gold balls.
