    The Vandalia Branch Library will start Story Time on Thursday, September 25 at 10-10:30 a.m. Story Time is for children who are 2 1/2-5 years of age.   • Display for POW/MIA at libary this Friday

    Friday, September 19 is POW-MIA Remembrance Day. This is a day nationally observed by all V.F.W. Posts and Auxiliaries. A table is set and articles of special meaning are displayed for the event and will be on display at the Vandalia Library for viewing on September 19 during normal Library hours.   • Power Puff game, parade next week

    This year’s Homecoming festivities, organized by STUCO, will be held Monday-Friday, September 15-19 at Van-Far R-I High School. The week long festivities are highlighted by a Power Puff football game at 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 17 on the high school football field.   • Sparks honored with open house

    Family, friends, and co-workers showed up to the Van-Far High School library last Friday to honor Crystal Sparks, who is retiring after 28 years of service to the district.   • Grant awarded to Community R-VI

    The Missouri Retired Teacher’s Foundation awarded a grant of $500 to the Community R-VI  FACS Department.  The grant was awarded for a multi-part lesson plan designed to involve the students from collecting raw food products to dehydrating, canning, and freezing them.
