A church service was provided in the chapel on Sunday morning and in the afternoon residents enjoyed a game of “Pass the Trash”. Monday morning residents gathered in the activity room for some trivia and a then the card players gathered again in the afternoon for a game of “Pass the Trash”.
Everyone enjoyed some homemade bread and coffee with reminiscing on Thursday morning and then a Bible study was held after lunch. The Lost Laddonia Boys entertained with their music in the afternoon.
Wednesday the August birthday residents enjoyed lunch at Porky’s and in the afternoon Vandalia VFW Post & Auxiliary No. 2173 sponsored a bingo game.
Bingo and pool were the highlights on Thursday morning and in the afternoon the Military Affinity Group of Columbia sponsored a bingo game. That evening a group loaded the bus and enjoyed supper at McDonald’s since it was too warm to have a picnic at the park.
Activity Council was held on Friday morning and in the afternoon Mexico Hot Steppers entertained everyone.
A group loaded the bus early Saturday morning and enjoyed breakfast at Diner 54 and in the afternoon Kelly Stanford played his music for everyone.
September 9 from 7–4 p.m. the MVH Staff Activity Committee will sponsor a Books Are Fun book fair. Everyone is welcome to come and support the event.
VFW Post No. 3772 will meet on Tuesday, September 17 at 7 p.m. in the dining room at the facility. All VFW members are welcome to attend.
Alzheimer Support Group will meet on Wednesday, September 18 at 1:30 p.m. at the facility. The public is welcome to attend.
MVH Assistance League, Mexico VFW Post No. 26, Fulton VFW Post No. 2657 and Mokane AmVets Post No. 153 will sponsor a poker run on September 14. To pre-register or for questions you can contact Dan Carson 573-581-4848 or Susan Paden 573-581-1088, Ext. 1286.
