The Summer Reading Program of the Laddonia Library began Thursday, July 11 at 1 p.m. at the Laddonia Firehouse.
Jerry Johnson, head of the volunteer firemen, presented a short program on fire fighting, fire equipment, and the rescue squad fire truck.
Johnson explained what happens when a fire truck arrives at your house.
The children attending the program took turns wearing a fireman’s jacket and helmet, “driving” the fire truck, and honking the truck’s horn.
Later, the kids sprayed water from a  small water hose in the brush truck.
Cookies were served as refreshments.
The boys and girls thanked Johnson for helping them learn about fire fighting.
The Laddonia Library’s Reading Program continues on Thursday, July 18 with a tour of the Poet Bio Refinery in Laddonia.
Anyone interested in the tour needs to call Pam Mozee, Librarian, at 547-373-2393.
