Fair board waits to see if changes, weather improve finances for annual event
It’s five days on the calendar. It’s a full year or more in the making.
The Vandalia Area Fair culminated Saturday night after a couple of rain delays in the activities, but fair board president Jeff Carlyle said before the tractor pull track hardly dries, they will be reviewing and planning.
A number of changes were made in this year’s schedule, primarily aimed at reducing expenses in an effort to secure future fairs.
And, as in some years past, there was some good news and some bad news during the week.
