Highlights from the week:
A church service was held in the chapel on Sunday morning. Monday morning a group gathered in the activity room for trivia and in the afternoon a Father’s Day bingo game was held. The fisherman loaded the bus early Tuesday morning for a trip to Mark Twain Landing for a day of fishing. Even though a lot of fish weren’t caught everyone had a great time and Kathy & Glen Hilgert sponsored a great BBQ lunch for everyone. A Bible study was also held in the chapel that afternoon and a Lutheran service was held on 2nd floor. The VFW Post #3772 met that evening for their monthly meeting with several residents attending. “Pass the Trash” was played on Wednesday morning by the card players and then at lunch time US Foods sponsored a mini food show for everyone to enjoy. In the afternoon, a Veterans Council meeting was held. Bingo and pool were the highlights on Thursday morning. Also, a group of Home Depot workers came to the facility and installed raised gardens which they had made and had BBQ hotdogs for the residents. Friday residents enjoyed a BBQ which consisted of pork steak, baked beans, cole slaw and watermelon. Liberty Jazz Band entertained everyone during the BBQ. Saturday morning residents enjoyed breakfast at Riley’s Roost for the Fly-in.
