Brookshier graduates from Linn State

Scott Alen Brookshier graduated from Linn State Technical College in ceremonies held Saturday, May 18, 2013.
The commencement exercises were held at Presser Performing Arts Center in Mexico, Mo. Scott received an Associate of Applied Science degree in Nuclear Technology Radiation Protection.
Mr. Fadi Diya, Vice President of Nuclear Operations at the Ameren Missouri Callaway Nuclear Plant in Fulton, Mo. was the guest speaker. Dr. Donald M. Claycomb, President of Linn State Technical College and Mr. Bruce Meffert, Director of Linn’s nuclear program presided over the ceremonies.
Scott received Dean’s List honors for graduating with at least a 3.6 or above grade point average out of a possible 4.0 and making the Dean’s List every semester.
He was also one of the students who was recognized for receiving the Exelon Nuclear Radiological Protection Technician designation form the National Academy for Nuclear Training. Scott additionally was recognized for membership in Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society of two-year colleges and academic programs.
Following the graduation ceremonies, a luncheon was hosted by Linn State at the Audrain County 4-H Center. Those attending were Steve and Elaine Brookshier, Scott’s parents; Fern Brookshier, maternal grandmother; Shane Brookshier, brother; Sally Brookshier, sister; and friends Matt Cole, Nolan Gilley, and Samantha Grills. Scott is a 2010 Van-Far graduate.
