Historical Society sets museum open date

President Paul Ray called the May 17 meeting of the Vandalia Area Historical Society to order by asking for new discoveries or donations.
A glass display case donated by Clayton and Mary Ann Kohl Barse and Rachel Kohl and a horse collar donated by Donley Morris were reported.
An offer of a high chair used by her children was accepted from Dottie Lange.
These donations are much appreciated and will find a place in our expanded museum.
After regular reports were read and accepted the discussion turned to the opening of our newly expanded and remodeled museum. June 22 and 23 are the dates for this event and details will be forthcoming as available.
It was mentioned that our organization has enjoyed good weather for almost all of our events and we hope this trend continues.
After setting the next meeting date for June 21, the group walked over to the museum for a tour.
Much has been accomplished since the group was there after the April meeting.
Much remains to be done and volunteers are still needed.
Anyone wishing to help is encouraged to call Pat Ray at 594-3999, Mike Menench at 594-2706 or Paul Ray at 314-724-2010.
