VFW set for May 27, Memorial Day

The VFW Post No. 2173 will be hosting their Annual Memorial Day Services on May 27, 2013.
Services will begin at 8 a.m. at the Curryville Cemetery, 8:30 a.m. at the Farber Cemetery, 9 a.m. at Memorial Garden, and 9:30 a.m. at the Vandalia Cemetery.
The program at the VFW Post will begin at 10 a.m. with an invocation by the Rev. Robert Hoehn of Spencer Creek Baptist Church. Presentation of the Colors will be by VFW Post No. 2173 and Kevin Morris will sing the national anthem.  Ron Rourke will lead the “Pledge of Allegiance”. Bryan Humel will sing “Proud to be an American”.  Randy McDonald will be the guest speaker after which the St. Cecelia Music Club will present the “Battle Hymn of the Republic”. To finish the service, the VFW Post No. 2173 will present a Rifle Salute followed by the Van-Far Chiefs Band playing “Taps and Echo”.
