R-VI gets a “1”
The Community R-VI 6th and 7th grade band, under the direction of Rose Wilburn, played at the Macon Junior High Music Festival on Saturday, May 4.
The band, assisted by 8th grade students Jesse Foreman and Johnny Hicks, received a “1” rating playing “Canto and Caprice” by James Curnow and “Surge” by Robert W. Smith.
The band received a “2” rating at Central Methodist University Music Festival, despite the snow days that we had.
It was a great accomplishment to hear an vast improvement from the previous concert performance.
Kylee Windmann also received a “1” rating performing “Dangerous Journey” by Koelling on Piano. Kylee has been playing the piano since the 6th grade using a half-sized keyboard.
She would practice her music during her free time or when she finished her homework during Trojan time using headphones with the school’s keyboard.
She played the same solo at Central Methodist University Music Festival earning a “2” rating.
