Former MFA grain elevator demolished in Laddonia
Large concrete debris falls from the old grain elevator demolished last week in Laddonia.
An approximately 90-year-old MFA landmark was demolished last week next to the Casey’s on Highway 54/19 in Laddonia.
On Wednesday, April 24, Roberts Demolition & Roll Off first brought down an approximate 100’x32’ metal structure before beginning to knock down the 95’ tall grain elevator.
The facility had not been used on a regular basis since the mid-90s.
MFA Laddonia General Manager Adair Hathaway said the move to bring down the facility was part of a clean up effort to benefit the community.
“MFA is striving to improve our company image and our image within the local community with how we present our equipment and infrastructure,” Hathaway said. “This is just a step in the direction of showing that to the local community.”
