WERDCC hosts program as part of Crime Victims’ Week

The Women’s Eastern Reception, Diagnostic, and Correctional Center (WERDCC) hosted a program featuring “New Challenges, New Solutions” as part of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week on Tuesday, April 23.
This year’s event began with the WERDCC Honor Guard’s presentation of the colors followed by a welcome from Warden Angela Mesmer.
After Chaplain Tom Barnhart led with prayer, CCMII Brian Yelton performed “When the Children Cry.”
Assistant Warden D.J. Miller gave the introduction.
A victim’s statement was given by Judy Francis.
Retired Assistant Warden Jackie Thomas presented on the impact that ICVC makes on offenders.
Patricia Stathem, CCMII Restorative Justice Coordinator, made the restorative justice presentation.
