The Vandalia Area Historical Society held an abbreviated meeting at the Vandalia Hotel on Friday, April 19 at 6:30 p.m.
After regular business was conducted, most of the discussion concerned the progress of the Cornerstone Project.
President Paul Ray and Mike Menench brought the group up to date on the project and listed various types of the work still to be done as follows: hang drywall, install ceiling boards, lay carpet, install frames, hang doors, plumbing, run electric wiring, and install trim boards.
Volunteers are still needed and anyone interested in helping should contact Mike Menench at 594-2706, Pat Trower at 594-3999 or Paul Ray at 314-724-2010.
A tentative timeline for moving back into the former museum was discussed.  Paul thanked everyone for their dedication and help on the project.
After setting the next meeting date for May 17 at the Vandalia Hotel, the meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend these meetings.
