Services for Calvin Leroy Hull, age 74, of Farber were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Farber Christian Church with Justin and Jamie Franke officiating.
Burial will be in Farber Cemetery with military honors provided by Laddonia American Legions Post No. 510.
Visitation was held Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Services were under the direction of Bienhoff Funeral Home. Mr. Hull passed away at 5 p.m., April 12, 2013 at Tri County Care Center, Vandalia. He was born March 19, 1939 in Farber, the son of Ralph E. and Mildred Williams Hull. He was married to Vernelle Bailey on July 21, 1958 in Farber and she survives. Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Russel Branstetter of Lone Jack; two brothers and their wives, Darryl and Shirley Hull of Pleasant Hill, and P.A. and Judy Hull of Farber; one sister and her husband, Glenda and Robert Clithero of Vandalia; and two grandchildren, Rachel Branstetter of Ozark and Tyler and Beth Branstetter of St. Louis.
Mr. Hull was a lifetime area resident and a 1957 graduate of Van-Far High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from September 30, 1957 to August 2, 1959, aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Essex. He was employed at North American Refractories for over 40 years. He was a longtime servant of Jesus Christ serving at the Farber Christian Church as past Elder and currently deacon and song leader. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, dancing and visiting and entertaining folks at the Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Farber Christian Church or the Farber Library Memorial Fund. Pallbearers were Redd Dodd, Steve Lewis, Floyd Bishop, Gary Haynie, Tony Shade, and Bob Bonney.
