Trojans pick up two EMO victories

The Community R-VI Trojans’ baseball began the season last week with a solid start in the EMO Conference after winning two of their three games by a 33-10 margin.
They gained their first victory just a few miles up the road on Highway 19 after beating Wellsville-Middletown 18-5.
The Trojans scored at least four runs in each of the first three innings as they jumped out to an early 16-5 lead. They added one run in each of the final two innings to seal the win.
Justin Durham led the squad with three hits, three RBIs, and two runs scored while Jacob Eastwood had two hits, two runs scored, and five RBIs.
Nick Jensen had two RBIs and one run scored; Doug Davenport scored four runs and had one RBI; Kyle Curtis had two hits, two RBIs, and two runs scored; Kaleb Harris tallied two hits, three RBIs, and two runs scored; and Clay Thebeau scored two runs. Shane Myers, Cameron Foreman, and Jamie Householder each had one run scored.
Eastwood also picked up the victory on the mound.
On Friday, April 5, the Trojans picked up their second EMO Conference victory after cruising past Clopton 15-5.
The Trojans exploded for five runs in the first inning and added seven more in the fifth to seal the victory.
Clay Thebeau was the star of the game as he had five hits, scored four runs, and added one RBI.
Harris tallied three hits, three RBIs, and three runs scored; Davenport scored two runs and had one RBI; Foreman had two hits, two RBIs, and one run scored; Eastwood scored two runs; Lane Thebeau tallied three RBIs and two runs scored; Durham had one run scored and one RBI; and Myers had two RBIs.
Davenport and Lane Thebeau both saw time on the mound in the victory.
The Trojans first loss of the season came at the hands of North Callaway as Community R-VI lost 12-6. The Thunderbirds led 4-3 through two innings before scoring at least one run in the final five innings to hold on for a victory.
Meyers led the Trojans with two hits and one RBI. Foreman, Davenport, Lane Thebeau, and Harris each scored one run while adding one RBI. Clay Thebeau had one RBI while both Durham and Curtis scored one run.
Clay Thebeau picked up the loss. Harris also saw some time on the mound.
