The Farber Baptist WOM and Baptist Men met Monday, February 18, with Karen Holbrook, WOM president, leading the group in singing “Thy Word Is a Lamp to My Feet”. Callie Fowler presented the program entitled, “Praying Thy Will Be Done” , assisted by Linda Prior. Prayer chairman, Monnie Smith, read Genesis 42:24 as the scripture focus and a topic on Bangladesh as the prayer focus. Preparations were made for the Women’s Day service, Sunday February 24. Global Partners topic, “Missionary Meets Evangelism,” was presented by Prior. Mission action for March will be a donation to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. Next meeting is March 18 with Smith hostess and Holbrook leading the program.
Jim Day, president, opened the men’s meeting with Leviticus 6: l-6 and prayer. A donation will be made to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. Sterling Holbrook led the program,”Pursuing Those Called To Tell; Pursuing Those Who Need To Hear.” The scripture focus was Jonah. The following parts were presented: “Called To Tell; Which Way Are You Going?”, Tom Prior; “What Will It Take?” and “Do We Care As God Cares?”, Ted Fowler; “To Whom Will You Turn?”, Tom Wright; “Includes Some with an Urgent Need,” Day; “A Great Opportunity,” Waldo Roberts; and “Isn’t Just About Us,” Gene Fowler. Holbrook asked pertinent questions after each part. The meeting was closed with the Calendar of Prayer for Easter services, Sunday night attendance, and the fall revival.
