Agape House to receive United Way funds

Board members met in regular session Tuesday, January 15, at Agape House of Vandalia.  Prior to the meeting, an inspection of the premises was conducted.  The facility was found to be in excellent condition with the exception of cracking sheetrock in one guest room.

This will be corrected soon.  At the same time, written guest surveys were reviewed.  Most guests found the guest house to be extremely beneficial to them as they visited loved ones in the correctional facilities at Bowling Green and Vandalia.

Board members in attendance were Anne Barnes, Carlene Galloway, Janet Heim, Karen Holbrook, Sterling Holbrook, Elwood LaRue, Kay Robnett and Veanna Snodgrass.

Members were heartened to learn the facility would again receive quarterly gifts from United Way of Audrain County. Robnett reported the completion of the Cardinals’ Care grant application.  Heim assigned topics to be included in a new brochure for house guests.  This will be assembled and printed by the February 19 meeting.
