Rush Hill Community Center to be donated to town board
The Village of Rush Hill Board of Trustees met January 10, at the Rush Hill Community Center with Connie L. Rutherford, board chairperson, calling the meeting to order at 6 p.m. Other trustees present were Larry LaRue, Kathy Taylor and Helen LaRue. Trustee Nihiser was absent.
The Treasurer’s Report and motion to pay January bills were approved by the board with motion by Kathy Taylor and second by Larry La Rue.
2012 Financial Report: Helen La Rue, Clerk, presented the 2012 Financial Report. Larry La Rue made the motion to approve the financial report with second by Kathy Taylor. Motion passed. Aye: Kathy Taylor, Larry LaRue, Connie Rutherford, Helen LaRue. Nay: 0
Mrs. LaRue reported she had contacted the Collector’s office in regards to not receiving the 2012 Alpha Report for Rush Hill that she usually receives by the end of October. She was told that information comes from the Assessor’s office.
Mrs. LaRue then contacted Missy Maupin, County Assessor. She said if her office was to do the Alpha Reports then they should be paid. We both went to the Commissioner’s office where we were told that they hoped to have something done about this by the end of February.
General Election will be April 2, at the Rush Hill Community Church. Trustees whose terms expire are Helen LaRue and Kathy Taylor. LaRue and Taylor have both filed.
Discussions were held regarding Rush Hill Community Center donating the building to the town board once the Community Center Board has disbanded.
The town board agreed to taking over the building. Also discussed was a letter from Monroe County Water District regarding the Sewer Treatment Facility upgrade required by the Department of Natural Resources. Because the water district borrowed $110,000 in the form of Revenue Bonds, the new minimum rate for wastewater service for Rush Hill residents will be $36 per month beginning with the February 2013 bill.
This will cover the first 1,000 gallons of water used. Each additional 1,000 gallons of water used will have an additional charge of $2.
The total cost of the upgrade is $357,400.
