R-VI holds Christmas Concert

Under the direction of Rose Wilburn and Eva Eikel, Community R-VI hosted its 2012 Elementary and Secondary Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 6.

The preschool children kicked off the show performing “Jingle Bells” and “The Lights on the Tree,” followed by the 6th and 7th grade band performing “Regal March,” “Montego Bay,” and “BB Christmas.”

Grades K-2 then sung “I want to be an Elf,” “Snowmen Jump.” and “Christmas Tree, What Will You Be.”

The 8th grade band followed with a performance covering “Hungarian Themes,” “Green Sleeves,” and “The Sounds of Christmas.”

After the 8th grade band, grades 3-5 performed “First Day of Winter,” “Brown Christmas,” and “ A Kitty for a Present.”

A small ensemble sang “On Christmas Night,” before a 4th grade recorder performance of “Jolly Old St. Nicholas” and “Good King Wencelas.”

The High School guitar class followed with “Dust in the Wind,” “Allegretto,” and “We Wish You A Merry Christmas.”

The Middle School Choir performed “Peaceful,” “Candy Cane Lan,” and “Inscription of Hope” before the High School Band played “Wind River Overture” and “An English Christmas.”

To close the concert, The High School Choir performed “On Christmas Day” and “Deck the Hall.”
