Task Force makes drug busts

December 14

During the late evening hours of December 14, the East Central Drug Task Force assisted by the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at a residence in the 1100 block of Buchanan Street in the city of Mexico.

As a result of the search, officers seized approximately one pound of marijuana packaged for distribution and drug paraphernalia.  The search warrant resulted from an investigation conducted by the Sheriff’s Office.

The force arrested Charles Brandon Henton, age 22, of Mexico, on charges of charges of distribution of marijuana, near public housing, endangering the welfare of a child, and resisting arrest.  Henton posted a $37,000 bond.

December 17

During the afternoon hours of December 17, the East Central Drug Task Force assisted by the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office arrested Candace Kay Fuget, age 19, of Bowling Green for possession of methamphetamine.  Fuget’s bond is set at $10,000.

The East Central Drug Task Force was organized in 2001 and serves the cities of Bowling Green, Mexico, Montgomery City, and Vandalia, the counties of Audrain, Montgomery and Warren, along with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.  Anyone having information concerning illegal drug activity is urged to contact the East Central Drug Task Force at 573-473-5801, extension 330 or the Audrain County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392-TIPS.
