CURTIS EUGENE (GENE) BOOHER

Services for Curtis Eugene (Gene) Booher, 82, of Center were held at 1 p.m., Monday, November 26, 2012 at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Center, with Reverend Bill Dexheimer officiating. Burial will be in Center Cemetery.

Visitation was held on Monday from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Booher passed away at 10:25 a.m., November 23, 2012 at Willow Care Center in Hannibal.

He was born July 20, 1930 in Quincy, Ill., the son of Frank and Katie Rissmiller Booher. He was married to Betty Jo Horn on June 5, 1949 in Hannibal and she preceded him in death May 8, 2006.

Survivors include one son, Robert Booher of Center; one daughter, Bonnie Booher of Hannibal; one brother, John Booher of Center; three grandchildren, Joni Coberly of Hannibal, Lisa Branch of Jefferson City, and Danette Patton of Lake St. Louis; and four great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Kyleigh Landers of Center, and Tyler and Chandler Boshear of Hannibal.

He was preceded in death by three sons, Raymond, Roger, and Ronald Booher; one daughter, Brenda Booher; one sister, Mary Ford; and one granddaughter, Nikki Booher. Mr. Booher was a lifetime area resident and member of the Center Methodist Church.

He worked at CE Refractories as a foreman for over 24 years.

In his later years, he could be seen on his riding lawn mower throughout the Center area.

He enjoyed mowing yards,  spending time with his family and friends, and  loved animals. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Frankie Ford, Charles Booher, Dennis McMillen, Mike King, Frank Coberly, and J. Grimsley.
