Witches and goblins looking for a place to enjoy Halloween night should look no further than Martinsburg Area Community Betterment’s “Halloween at the Jail.” Washington Street in downtown Martinsburg will provide a safe family environment from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 31 for Halloween fun. Trunk or Treaters will spend the evening going from trunk to trunk, collecting candy from volunteers who have decorated their vehicles to serve as a backdrop for this spooktacular event. Before your departure, be sure to stop by the Jail for more Halloween thrills and surprises. Raffle for a chance to win $1,000 will be drawn at 7 p.m. Anything can happen at the jail on Halloween…
Host a trunk: Volunteers are needed to open up their trunks and decorate them for the candy distribution for the evening. When it comes to decorating there are obvious choices like pumpkins, spiders and webbing, brooms, bats, cauldrons, scary stuff… or choose any theme you wish. Fill your trunk with lots of goodies to hand out to the kids as they make their way around the Trunk-or-Treat zone. Feel free to wear a costume yourself and join the fun! There is no charge for participating.
