Services for Ronald Eugene Motley, Sr., 80, of Vandalia, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, September 21, 2012 at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Laddonia with Reverend Bob Hoehn officiating. Interment will be a private family service to be held at a later date.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Bienhoff Funeral Home, Laddonia.
Mr. Motley passed away at 11:52 a.m., September 17, 2012 at Tri-County Care Center, Vandalia.
He was born February 29, 1932, in Vandalia, the son of Raymond Davis and Ruby Mae Maxwell Motley.
Survivors include one son, Kevin R. (Beth) Motley of Vandalia; two daughters, Crystal (Barry) Sparks of Vandalia, and Tricia (Willie) Hamm of Columbia; one daughter-in-law, Nancy (Robert) Stotler of Vandalia; one brother, Rudolph (Lea) Motley of Meridian, Mississippi; one sister, Rowena (L.E.) Kohl of Vandalia; nine grandchildren, Brian Sparks, Sarah Elizabeth Motley, Claire Raeann Motley, and Rebecca Danielle Motley, all of Vandalia, Stephanie (Jimmy) Minor of Mexico, Ronni Kay Motley, Taylar Hamm, Dylan Hamm, and Macy Hamm, all of Columbia: and one step-greatgrandson, Quinlen Minor of Mexico.
He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald E. Motley, Jr.; three brothers, Roger V. Motley, Robert D. Motley, and Reginald Motley; four sisters, Ramona Gooch, Reva Cragen, Ruth Atkinson, and Regina Motley; and one infant sibling.
Mr. Motley was a lifetime area resident and a 1950 graduate of Vandalia High School.
He worked in the auto body repair business for over 50 years and owned Motley’s Body Shop for over 40 years.
He was a charter member to the Vandalia Lions Club and a member of the Pike Area Quails Unlimited. He loved spending time with his family and friends and at Motley Bottoms.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be his nieces and nephews.
