Farber Baptist WOM, Men meet

The Farber Baptist WOM and Baptist Men met Monday, August 20  for their monthly meetings.  “The Light of the World” was led by Karen Holbrook, WOM president.  Linda  Prior opened the meeting with prayer for praises. Jessica Hurd, program leader, presented “Coaching the Corporates” assisted by Callie Fowler, Prior, and Monnie Smith.    Prayer chairmen, Smith, read Hebrews 13:6,  as the prayer focus and Pakistan, prayer focus.   Each member read names of missionaries who had birthdays on this date and Smith closed with prayer.  Global Partners topics, “A Shared Meal” and” Florida” were presented by Carrie Hurd and Holbrook.    Members were reminded of the continued mission action of school supplies.  Mission action for September will be a donation to the Missouri State Missions Offering.  Secret pal names were revealed and new ones drawn for the coming year.   The next meeting will be September 17 with Linda Prior leading the program and Callie Fowler host.   Fowler closed the meeting with prayer. Sterling Holbrook opened the men’s meeting with Psalm l06:l-4 followed with prayer by Ted Fowler.  The annual fish fry, set for Sept. 8 at Sportsmans Park, was planned.  A homemade ice cream social to honor the women was planned for Sept. 22 at 7:00 p.m. at the church.  Donations were made  for school supplies and to the Missouri State Missions Offering.  Holbrook led the program, “Expressing Love; Embracing Responsibilities.”  The following parts were given: “Expressing Love Through Sacrifice” and “Responsibility Acquired in a Biblical Manner,” Tom Prior; “Expressing Love Through Commitment,” Tom Wright; “Express Love Through Substantiation” and “Acting Biblically with Responsibility,” Waldo Roberts;  “Expressing Love and Receiving Satisfaction,” Gene Fowler; “ Accepting and Embracing Responsibility,” Ted Fowler; “Associate with God’s Plan, Alan Hurd.  The scripture focus was from Ruth.  Holbrook ask pertinent questions after each part was presented.  The Calendar of Prayer  by Prior closed the meeting.  Jim Day was host.
