Robert Howard Crow, age 84, of Farber, Mo. passed away from respiratory failure at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Saint Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit, Mo.
A Women’s Covered Dish Luncheon will be held on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at noon at the Farber Community Center in Farber, Mo. Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on September 2, 2012 at the Farber Presbyterian Church in Farber, Mo. Graveside service will follow at the Farber Cemetery at 2 p.m. Family and friends are welcome.
Bob grew up in Farber, Mo. and graduated from Farber High School. He worked at North American Refractory Company and was called to serve his country just before the Korean War. Bob served two tours of duty in the U.S. Army at Fort Lewis, Washington and Fort Bliss, Texas as a personnel clerk. Returning home after his service, he relocated to Long Beach, Calif. and began his career in the Aerospace industry. Bob finished his college education and became a tool and dye manager at McDonald Douglas, Boeing and retired from Northup in 1989. He lived at John Knox Village from 2003 to 2012.
He was born on September 10, 1927 in Farber, Mio. the son of Leslie J. Crow and Laura Leone (Sparks) Crow. He was married to Carolyn Mae Evans from 1952 until they divorced in 1966. In 1969 he married Marjorie Jean Helms and they lived in Long Beach, Calif. and then Lee’s Summit, Mo.
Survivors include: one brother, Harold “Pat” Crow, his two sons, Stanley and wife, Kathy Crow of Springfield, Va. and Kenneth and wife Linda Crow of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; and two step sons, Doug and wife Alice Nixon of Huntsville, Ala., Bernard and wife Barbara Helms of Redding, Calif., Jacqueline Helms (wife of deceased step son Brett Helms) of La Mirada, Calif., 10 grandchildren and also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wives, Carolyn Crow and Marjorie Crow and two brothers, Don Crow and Bill Crow, and one sister, Mary Crow and step-son, Brett
