After 14 years of serving the Vandalia area, Bill and Nancy Stafford are in the process of selling their “Rose and Catering Plus L.C.” business located on Highway 54 in Vandalia to Michael and Violet Soey. The Soeys currently own “Spare Time Bowl & Grill.”
“Now I fully expect you to give them the same great support you have given Bill and I for the last 14 years…because trust me, they are totally awesome,” Nancy Stafford stated in a fax she recently sent to businesses in town.
The goal date for the transition is August 1 when the Soeys plan to open “The Heritage Café and Catering.”
The business is not new to Michael Soey as he once worked with his mom and Nancy Stafford previously in the catering business.
“Mike knew they were ready to sell and ready to retire and then the opportunity presented itself,” Violet Soey said.
Plans for the new “Heritage Café and Catering” include maintaining the current staff, catering offerings, specials, and phone numbers to remain the same.
Some noticeable changes in the near future will include painting to provide a new color scheme, an addition of pasta to the menu, as well as other menu items.
The Soeys also hope to expand business hours for dinner service and to possibly include being open for breakfast on Sundays.
Violet Soey added that she and her husband are hoping for the transition to go quickly as they have many plans in place before their bowling business hits the start of league action.
The Staffords are asking for those holding Catering Plus certificates to redeem them as soon as possible.
“We would like to thank our customers for their loyalty and encourage them to patronize the new business,” said the Staffords in a prepared statement for their advertisement.
