Pike County SWCD to hold experts event

The Pike County Soil & Water Conservation District is sponsoring an “Ask The Experts” event in Bowling Green at the City Park on Wednesday, August 6 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
If you’ve ever had questions about natural resource  or environmental concerns, here is your chance to ask an expert.
Some agencies and areas of expertise already committed are:  DNR – State Cost Share Programs and Services, Environmental Issues including open burning requirements, asbestos materials disposal and demolition/renovation requirements, illegal dumping, disposal of hazardous waste, pesticides, etc., water quality, compliance and financial assistance;  MDC – Wildlife, Ponds, Fisheries Biology, Private Land Management, and Forestry;  Pike County Health Department – Environmental Science and Farm Safety for Kids;  NRCS – Plant Materials Center, Engineering, Federal Programs and Services, Soil Science, Agronomy;   University of Missouri Extension – Technology in Agriculture (Drones, Cell Phones & Tablets), Organic; and we are still adding people and topics.  This event is open to the public – bring your natural resource questions or concerns, and we will direct you to the proper agency personnel to help you get an answer.
