Agape House Minutes
The Agape House of Vandalia board members met in regular session Tuesday, June 17.
There they learned repair of cracks in walls and the painting of two rooms would be done June 30 to July 2.
Guests will not be present on these days.
The facility, in use for nearly ten years, has had few structural problems.
In other business, the house manager reported that 53 guests, including ten children, stayed at the house in May.
A minor problem was repaired on a clothes dryer.
Veanna Snodgrass reported she had met with the Audrain County United Way committee on June 10.
In correspondence following the meeting, it was learned Agape House was approved to receive funding for 2015.
Guest comment sheets were reviewed and were positive in all areas.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, July 22, at the guesthouse.
Board members in attendance were Alberta Cropp, Carlene Galloway, Janet Heim, Floy Oliver, Kay Robnett, and Veanna Snodgrass.
Monetary gifts were received in May from the following: Bethlehem Baptist Church of Centralia; Curryville Baptist Church and Elm Grove Baptist Church of Curryville; Farber Baptist Church and Gladys Williams of Farber; Grand Crossings Baptist Association of Fulton; Laddonia Christian Church; Lockewood Park Baptist Church, First Presbyterian Church Women, and Friendship Baptist Church, all of Mexico; The Sociables Club of Santa Fe; Mary Scheffler of Leander, Texas; Hopewell Baptist Church and John Yost of Thompson; and Southside Baptist Church, First Presbyterian Church, First Baptist Church, and First Christian Church, all of Vandalia.
A gift was given in honor of Carlene Galloway by the First Presbyterian Church Women of Mexico.
Non-monetary gifts received included: printer cartridges for recycling by Grand Prairie Baptist Church of Auxvasse; and cereal and cereal bars and soup by Santa Fe Christian Church.
