Highlights from the week
A church service was provided for the residents in the chapel on Sunday morning.
On Monday morning the residents loaded the bus and traveled to a local fishing hole and caught a few fish. In the afternoon residents enjoyed a card game in the dining room.
On Tuesday residents gathered in the activity room and enjoyed trivia and jokes followed by a Bible study in the chapel. In the afternoon the card players gathered for a game and a Lutheran service was provided on the Special Care Unit.
On Wednesday morning the residents loaded the bus for a shopping trip to the local Wal-Mart. In the afternoon the Veterans Council was held and in the evening residents enjoyed a smoked chicken dinner in the activity room.
Bingo and pool were the highlights on Thursday morning and in the afternoon a “Movin’ On Up” party was held for Cheryl Lybarger.
Homemade cinnamon rolls, made by Linda and Jean, were enjoyed by residents and staff on Friday morning and in the afternoon a Catholic Mass was held in the chapel. On Saturday afternoon residents gathered for a game of Mexico Train Dominoes.
The VFW Post No. 3772 will meet on Tuesday, July 15 at 7 p.m. in the dining room at the facility. All VFW members are welcome to attend.
The Alzheimer Support Group will meet on Wednesday, July 16 at 1:30 p.m. at the facility.
The public is welcome to attend.
Currently, volunteers are needed to help at the reception desk on Saturday mornings from 7:30 a.m. until noon. If you are interested, contact Susan Paden, Supervisor of Volunteer Services at 573-581-1088 ext. 1286.
