Flowers takes oath in Farber

Alderperson Lynn Flowers was sworn into office by City Clerk Marie Bounds during the City of Farber’s Board of Aldermen meeting held on June 9.
In the May 20 run-off election, Flowers received 40 of the 68 votes cast to defeat William Robinson.
According to the city minutes, a motion was made and carried approving the annual liability insurance policy for a total of $15,213.
A Merchants License was approved for Angela Gerdeman to operate the Long Branch Salon.
Scott Allen, Water/Wastewater Superintendent was present at the meeting. He reported that the letter concerning the lead and copper sampling had been taken care of.
Approval was given to Dieckmann Construction to replace the broken window at City Hall.
Approval was given to have Kuda’s Auto Repair do repairs on the pickup truck.
Other miscellaneous items discussed were the trees dying at the Library, cars blocking an alley, and unlicensed cars.
