With approval given by the City of Vandalia two weeks ago for the construction of a new concession stand at South School Park, the Vandalia Youth Ball Association (VYBA) has established donation levels with the hopes of a new building being erected by May 5.
VYBA President Lee Scrogin said the levels include:
• Bronze-$50 and under
• Silver-$51-$100
• Gold-$101-$200
• Platinum-$201-$300
• Diamond-$301 and above
Those donating will receive advertising signs on the building.
The 24’ x 40’ building will have a new concession stand as well as a seating area, storage and two restrooms, which will be locked up nightly.
The estimated cost for the project is $14,000-$15,000.
With an average of 60-80 games with 11 teams in VYBA contests along with three to four NEMO Hot Shots tournaments, the building is expected to provide a needed service to the community. (The statistics provided were according to Lee Scrogin.)
“These are some major upgrades to help the kids in the community and the spectators,” Scrogin said.
