Several incumbents file for office in area counties

election-buttonThe filing period began on February 25 for several Audrain County seats up for election in 2014.
As of press time, incumbent candidates have put their names on the election ballot to declare their hopes of continuing to serve the county for another term.
Those who have filed include:
• Presiding Commissioner – Steve Hobbs (R)
• County Clerk – Shelley Harvey (D)
• Collector – Kate Becker (R)
• Treasurer – Patty Meyers (D)
• Recorder – Janis Deimeke (R)
• Circuit Clerk – Penny Creed-Craghead (D)
• Associate Circuit Judge – Linda Hamlett (D)
• Prosecuting Attorney – Jacob Shellabarger
Candidates wishing to file can do so through Tuesday, March 25.
Filing will take place at the Audrain County Clerk’s Office, 101 N. Jefferson Street, Room 101, Mexico, Mo.

Pike County
The first day filing were released for Pike County races.
Those who have filed include:
• Associate Circuit Judge-Dave H. Ash (I) Democrat
• Presiding Commissioner-Dan Miller (I) Democrat; Chris Gamm (I) Republican; Terry Burris, Democrat
• County Clerk-Melissa Kempke (I) Democrat
• Clerk of the Circuit Court-Jerri Harrelson (I) Democrat
• Recorder of Deeds-Sherry Crow McCarty (I) Democrat
• County Treasurer-Patti Crane (I) Democrat
• Prosecuting Attorney-Mark Fisher (I) Democrat
• Collector of Revenue-Marty J. Morrison (I) Democrat
