A tractor trailer overturned last week just outside Farber on Highway 54.

A mixture of winter storms, extremely cold weather, and icy conditions hit the Vandalia area last week.
This resulted in the Van-Far, Community R-VI, and St. Joseph School Districts being closed from Monday-Thursday, February 3-6.
Several businesses closed early on Monday and Tuesday due to the weather conditions.
On Wednesday, the eastbound lane of U.S. Highway 54 was blocked one half mile west of Farber to allow wrecker crews to upright and remove an overturned tractor trailer unit from the roadside.
The accident occurred at 12:20 a.m. when a Hogan 2012 International truck traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned. The 39-year-old driver William Lombardo, of Ballwin, Mo., suffered moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Audrain Medical Center.
