County Market opens in Mexico

The Audrain County Health Department conducted a thorough inspection of the County Market facility Saturday, November 30 to address the embargo of food, drug, and cosmetic products. In attendance were individuals from Niemann Foods, County Market, contract personnel, and ACHD.

As of Saturday, November 30 at 11:30 a.m., the ACHD approved release of the embargoed food, drug, and cosmetic product contained within the County Market facility.
As part of the normal Public Health protocol for food establishments both a pre-opening and an opening inspection are required.
The Audrain County Health Department conducted a pre-opening inspection of the County Market facility Saturday, November 30. In attendance were individuals from Niemann Foods, County Market, contract personnel, and ACHD.
As of Saturday, November 30 at 4 p.m., the County Market facility received a score of 98 out of 100 and an opening inspection was scheduled for 9 a.m., Monday, December 2.
The Audrain County Health Department conducted an opening inspection of the County Market facility Monday, December 2. In attendance were individuals from Niemann Foods, County Market, contract personnel, and ACHD.
As of Monday, December 2 at 11:15 a.m., the ACHD approved the re-opening and issued a ‘Permit to Operate a Food Service Establishment’ for the County Market facility. The County Market facility received a score of 98 out of 100 and a routine follow-up inspection will be conducted in 30 days.
The City of Mexico was notified Monday, December 2 at 11:30 a.m. for processing of the city business license for the County Market facility.
It is the understanding of ACHD that County Market is to re-open to the public around Noon on Tuesday, December 3.
As of this date and time, the partial Audrain County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) for this incident is closed.
