Missouri Veterans’ Home
Highlights from the week
A church service was held in the chapel on Sunday morning. Later that morning a group loaded the bus and headed to “Hooters” for lunch before attending the Mizzou Girls Volleyball game.
Special thanks to the three mystery guys that paid for lunch for the group, and also to the MU staff that escorted the group into the game and had special seating on the floor where you could see everything. The residents had a great time!
Trivia was held on Monday morning and in the afternoon the card players gathered for a game of “Pass the Trash.”
Bible study was held on Tuesday in the chapel and in the afternoon “Lost Laddonia Boys” entertained the residents.
Once again the card players gathered on Wednesday morning for a game of “High/Low” and then the residents with October birthdays loaded the bus for a birthday lunch at Porky’s. The Vandalia VFW Post & Auxiliary sponsored a bingo game in the afternoon.
Martinsburg American Legion No. 552 sponsored the blackout bingo on Thursday morning at the bingo game and then a group of residents enjoyed a game of pool. Catholic communion was held in the chapel in the late morning and in the afternoon residents loaded the bus and headed to the local Wal-Mart for their shopping needs.
Flyer Golf was enjoyed by residents on Friday morning and in the afternoon they watched some of the Andy Griffin Shows.
Trick or Treating will be from 6:30–8 p.m. on Thursday, October 31 in the dining room at the facility.
