All of these items are appreciated and add much to our museum. A thank you card was received from Kate Becker thanking us for displaying the 1838 tax assessment record.
After regular reports were read and accepted, the Genealogy Committee reported on their progress and is to bring a list of needs to the next meeting. The group was advised that permission had been received from the VFW Post to put plaques at both ends of the Veteran’s Memorial in the Library Park, honoring our military who died in the line of duty.
The committee is also in the process of obtaining biographical information on those we are honoring for a booklet.
Charlene Teague reported that she had conducted a tour for the Retired Teachers of Audrain County and they were very impressed with our museum.
She also reported that she had been contacted by a lady from Wentzville trying to find the Logan Family Cemetery. Anyone having any information regarding this family or cemetery is asked to contact Charlene at 573-594-3026.
Plans for a card party fundraiser in January to include food and a silent auction were discussed and a committee was formed to work on this.
The meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m. after setting the next meeting date for November 15 at the Hudson Building.
